Pebbles of Power!

by Shervin Saedinia

I've often wondered how people in rural countries were able to survive without any electricity.  Our culture is extremely dependent on it, we probably wouldn’t know what to do if a major outage hit.  Well the Solar Pebble is a great solution for developing countries that lack an grid for electricity. Even better, it also doubles as an emergency device for anyone who wants to be prepared for a disaster.  This awesome product is a portable solar powered lamp that looks similar to a portable mirror.  Yes folks, you know what I mean: one of those transportable mirrors you use to pluck those little hairs off your face.

The Solar Pebble is mainly targeted for rural Africa and will allow many Africans to have the freedom to do things at night that they would have never had the opportunity to do.  Just imagine if other developing countries were able to get their hands on this?  Can you visualize how many lives it can change?  A lot, in case you're bad at visualizing.

Not only does it serve as a lamp, but it is also capable of charging other devices.  How neat is that!? If a natural disaster struck (such as the Haiti earthquake) and we needed access to our cell phones, the Solar Pebble would come in quite handy.  It might even save lives!

Honestly, I really don’t see any downfalls with this product.  All I have to say is EPIC SUCCESS (if it works like it is supposed to).

Just to build on the description above….

The product will replace current kerosene burning lanterns widely used, which kill 1 person every 20 seconds and also cost an average family £80 a year!

After dark it helps support on going work into the evening helping education and increasing working hours.

From a development perspective, the product is design to be assembled in target countries to help support the development of local economies and a service infrastructure of repair and maintenance.

Our representatives move from community to community training and setting up local business to assemble and maintain these products for ongoing sustainable development.
